Welcome, Halo Fans! This is your Halo Weekly News update with the most considerable news of the week. Even during a wave of new games, the Halo Franchise stays active. It should be noted that 343 Industries continuously updates The Master Chief Collection alongside Halo Infinite development. On top of that, we got an exceptional crossover announcement and big Esports news. Without further ado, let’s jump into it!
After several days of leaks and rumors, Epic Games finally confirmed the Halo crossover with Fortnite. The Master Chief skin was announced through a trailer released at The Game Awards 2020.
The following Halo skins are now available for purchase in Fortnite:
- Master Chief Black version Skin
The Master Chief skin alone is priced at 1500 V-Bucks, while the complete pack costs 2600.
Epic Games also made another unexpected disclosure at the event. Two famous characters known from the Rooster Teeth series Red vs Blue participated in a funny trailer alongside the pro player Ninja. They announced that ‘Blood Gulch’ will be coming to Fortnite as a creative map. This map was originally part of Halo: Combat Evolved.
The map is playable right now in the new Capture The Flag mode.
Master Chief Collection 2020 Numbers
In August, Halo Infinite was delayed to 2021 due to development issues. As a result, many fans felt huge disappointment with 343 Industries. Yet, it’s fair to say that 2020 was a good year for Halo: The Master Chief Collection. To illustrate this success, 343 Industries released some numbers regarding the game:
- More than 41 million hours were spent in the game.
- 14,919,861,726 kills in PvP and PvE modes.
- 7,378,976,059 Grunts killed. (Oh no! You killed my friend!).
- Deadliest map: Halo Reach Forge World with 531,429,537 deaths.
- 300,000 registered insiders.
- and more than 117 pizzas were sent by fans to 343 developers.
This is not the end, though. Since 343 is not planning on stopping releasing new content to the game through new seasons, you can expect new updates throughout 2021. For instance, take a look at the upcoming Halo 3 armors coming in Season 5.
There are also multiple features on track to be added in 2021. They include Steam account linking, PC file share and more.
Full Collection now on PC
Indeed, it is undeniable the problematic state in which the game was launched back in 2014. Even so, we can’t also deny that 343 spared no effort to fix thousand of bugs and release new content to the collection throughout 2020.
Without a doubt, it’s remarkable that the entire Halo saga is now available on PC, including Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, Reach and last but not least Halo 4. With the recent release of Halo 4, the collection is finally complete on PC. To celebrate, 343 published an epic new trailer.
Halo 5 Pro Series Season 2
Finally, the Halo 5 Pro Series Season 2 has come to an end. After months of intense matches and epic gunfights, the Sentinals team have emerged victorious.
The squad, formed by Frosty, Royal 2, Snakebite and Trippey, got a $4,000 prize.
